The largest U. S. Refinery strike since 1980 is entering its second week with managers attempting to maintain normal production. In Toledo Ohio at the BP Husky refinery over 300 management staff and replacement workers have been living on-site for over a week while the United Steelworkers picket line marches outside the refinery. Strikes have occurred at eight other U.S. Refineries. Safety is an issue with untrained workers, and BP faces a challenge to restart a catalytic cracker that has been down for several weeks.
