The U.S. Department of Energy has approved ConocoPhillips application to export LNG from its Kenali terminal in Alaska. Up to 40 billion cu ft. of natural gas will be exported over the next two years beginning on Feb 19, 2016. The Kenali facility was the first LNG export facility built in the U. S. and has been in operation since 1969. ConocoPhillips will be able to export gas to any country the United States has a free-trade agreement with or any other country with which trade is not prohibited by U.S. law.
